How do we treat language as a gift while being mindful of its limitations? Language brings us together, but also has a way of separating and isolating (in order to name it).
What is lost of sensing, when one is searching for words, language. What is lost in the translation, when we are speaking with only our word, and listening with only our ears? What role do our senses play in communication?
Words, language, communication! Not just saying, listening but sensing as well. When we listen with a settled high heart, then even the most hurtful words are taken seen for what hey truly are and the interjection comes to be a learning experience. How we feel about what is communicated is also a part of the tricksters (ego self) when we listen with just our ears, what thoughts and emotions, are unleashed.
It is interesting to consider how we can't help communicating. Some researchers say over 90% of total communication is non-verbal with 99% of emotional communication being expressed without words. How we carry ourselves, what we eat and wear, where we live and work all send messages to our deeper Self. How we feel about these things contributes to our self-esteem, mood, and worldview, which carries over into how we communicate with others. What do our thoughts, words, and listening communicate to the universe/goddess/higher power.
